Chief Financial Officer

Peoria Riverfront Museum seeks a proven accounting professional to serve as Chief Financial Officer, directly responsible for all accounting and financial activities of the organization. Also oversees the facilities and information technology departments and co-directs the human resources function. Participates in the President & CEO’s senior management team, helping to set policy and procedure.

Requires Bachelor’s degree in appropriate field plus CPA, CMA or coursework equivalent to that required for CPA certification. Requires 5 years of experience in accounting, including preparation of financial statements, budgeting, and supervising; not-for-profit experience preferred. Must possess strong computer, organizational, and written and oral communication skills; flexibility; a love of variety in job duties in a fun work environment; and a passion for the Museum’s mission. Event Manager

Peoria Riverfront Museum seeks an Event Manager to create memorable experiences, maximize revenue through rentals, and ensure seamless event execution aligning with the museum's mission and development objectives and complementing current exhibitions. Responsible for scheduling, communications, administration and execution related to private event rentals as well as assisting with the production and facilitation of internal museum events. Full-time position with benefits. Core hours M-F 9-5, but flexibility is key, as frequent evenings and weekends are required to manage special events.

Requires 1 year event planning and production experience, museum experience a plus; requires high school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's degree preferred. Gallery Guides - Part-Time

Gallery Guides engage museum guests in the objects on display in our galleries using inquiry-based approaches, hands-on activities, and scripted tours. They encourage visitors to explore museum content more deeply on-site, and to continue their learning with digital museum resources. Gallery Guides provide quality educational experiences and visitor services for school field trips, group tours, museum donors and VIPs, and general museum visitors. They also support field trips that are part of the Every Student Initiative (ESI) program, which aims to engage every student from every public, private and homeschool organization in Central Illinois with a curriculum-inspired visit to the Peoria Riverfront Museum every year. Gallery Guides may also help with hands-on craft activities, a 3-D virtual reality studio, and interactive spaces inside exhibit galleries. 

Requires interest and enthusiasm for sharing art, history, science and achievement content with visitors of all ages, an ability to interact successfully with children and adults in public speaking situations, and a positive attitude; high school diploma or equivalent preferred. Hours are part-time, 3-4 hours per shift, typically between 9:00 and 5:00 Tuesday-Saturday, and 12:00 and 5:00 Sunday. Click here for job description.

Visitor Services Associates - Part-Time

Peoria Riverfront Museum seeks part-time Visitor Services Associates. Work as part of a team to deliver quality customer service at the ticket desk, Museum store, concessions, galleries, and events. Sell admission tickets, memberships, store merchandise, and concessions; answer visitor questions; monitor safety in the galleries; assist with setups, hosting, and teardowns of events. Requires a positive attitude and strong people skills, cash handling ability, and ability to use a computerized point-of-sale system.
